Building a Culture of welcoming and belonging must go beyond compliance. Organizational culture must be a primary goal for businesses and organizations to build successful engagements.

As we face an increasingly multicultural and multinational world, we must undertake the knowledge and tools to help us be successful in building relationships and engaging with the individuals that make up the businesses and organizations that we work with. Education has a pivotal role to play in developing a workforce that has the requisite ability to be successful in this ever changing and diversifying world. Research has long shown that diverse groups perform at high levels because they have a wide array of perspectives which lead to outcomes which are more broadly applicable.

Accessibility, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Justice play a more critical role in our internal and external engagements than ever before. Potential employees and collaborators are closely watching organizational actions to find meaningful commitment to these critical issues. Gone are the days when employees would accept a position with or stay in the employment of an organization simply because of pay and benefits. Organizations that truly value belonging and take thoughtful, intentional steps towards building environments in which every employee, regardless of identity or culture, can thrive and feel secure to bring their authentic brilliance to the table, are employers and collaborators of choice.

Intercultural competence has been identified as a critical competency in several studies focusing on overseas effectiveness of international sojourners, international business adaptation and job performance and inter-ethnic relations within nations. Intercultural competence, awareness, and sensitivity has also been shown to be vital in employee recruitment, satisfaction, performance, and retention. To thrive in business, understanding of and engagement with the complexities of identity and culture are requirements for success.

Culture Beyond Compliance Consulting exists to work with organizations and individuals who understand this leadership imperative and help situate them to win.
